How to read it
Warmth
FXR's own warmth rating, 1 to 10. A 2-in-1 also shows the shell on its own, with the liner out.
Boots: stiffness
FXR's stiffness number for each boot. Higher is stiffer, with more ankle support for standing and working the sled; lower is softer and easier to walk in.
Gloves, mitts, hybrids
Mitts are warmer than gloves because the fingers share heat. Hybrid mitts split the index finger out for the brake and throttle.
2-in-1 vs insulated
A 2-in-1 has a zip-out liner, so one jacket covers cold days and spring. Insulated means the warmth is sewn in.
Waterproof
FXR's HydrX rating. The higher the number, the more water it keeps out; 35K is the highest here. HydrXPro and plain HydrX are FXR waterproof shells with no number published.
Floats (F.A.S.T.)
Float Assist Safety Tech: flotation built into the garment that helps keep a rider up if they go through ice. 4.0 is the newest version. 50 of these models have it.
Built for
Trail riding is mostly seated on groomed trails, where warmth matters most. Off-trail and deep-snow gear is lighter and moves more, for riders who stand and work the sled.
Extras and warranty
Vents are zippered openings to dump heat. A.C.M.T. is FXR's climate-control system. Warranty is FXR's: 3-year progressive or 1 year.
